Wedding!!

The wedding countdown is on. There is 6 days until I am Mrs. Archer and things have been happening fast. Wally and I got to CT on Wednesday morning and we have been pretty busy the last few days. I feel like I've been going for 3 weeks straight. On Friday Wally had his stag, so I headed home to my parents to get some stuff together and done. Before that we went up to Kent Falls to see how much snow was on the ground and it was beautiful!! We stomped out more of a pathway for people to walk on and for the ceremony site. Wally is going to go back up there next week because we are supposed to get another big storm on tuesday. After the falls we go some Hot Chocolate at Belgique. Delicious. It tasted like dark hot chocolate with chantile whipped cream on top. Probably the best I'v ever had.

The favors are done and wrapped with tulle and ribbon, tseating chart done, place cards were made and tied onto the felt mittens that were made months ago, centerpieces were put together, envelopes were pre-addressed for thank you cards (we just need stamps to  go on them). All of the stuff for the reception is put together. Then shopping was completed for the rehearsal dinner dress, bachelorette party dress, underwear, mom's gifts, wally's reader's gift, and lip gloss for touch ups.

I am so glad that things are coming together and can't wait for the wedding to finally be here. Tomorrow's plan is to head to NH where we are moving to after the wedding to clean the new house and "see the town". We will probably meet up with friends on tuesday for lunch. Wednesday... hopefully the moving truck will be at the house so we can unpack. Thursday... Bachelorette Party in Boston! Friday - lots to do - breakfast -drive back to CT - mani/pedi - rehearsal dinner - sleep!! Saturday - Wedding.

Home in CT

Sorry it has been a few days. So Wally and I got home into CT on Wednesday morning. We ended up driving through the night to beat the storm that was coming in. Good thing too because we must have gotten 14-16 inches of new snow. The snow must be at least 3 feet deep. I can't remember the last time I saw this in CT. Since we have been home we have been busy. Wednesday was catching up on rest and relaxing with the family. Thursday was full of errands and phone calls, to the florist, the baker, returning the car trailer, and picking up the snowmobiles. So naturally Wally wanted to make sure that they were running ok. Which too longer than expected and with all of the fresh snow getting stuck more than he probably expected. I only got on for a little bit. I was doing well until the end when I wa "bumped" into a tree. Just a little one... I am ok... the tree is not. Sorry no pictures...

Today's agenda - Kent,CT to see the ceremony location and get our marriage license. Then Wally has his stag tonight. I will be heading to my parents for more wedding stuff. Next week is getting pretty busy!!

1 WEEK until the WEDDING!!

Candy and gift store

So our next stop was the LARGEST gift shop and candy factory. That was pretty fun. Naturally we got some candy and a magnet to add to the collection

FWD:

So our day has started. We have already made 2 stops one at black widow bow shop. Wally was able to try a few custom bows.

Travelling...

So, I am getting pretty sick, my nose is red, and I am pretty cranky. Luckily Wally doesn't mind driving much because I am taking medication to feel better and sleeping in the trunk probably more than I should. So today we started in Nebraska today. The coldest that it got today was -2 degrees F. They must have just gotten some snow/ice because there were many, probably 15 cars off the road. We are glad that we stopped driving when we did last night because we probably would have driven right through that storm. So today with driving there was lots to be seen but we did not stop at any of them. That includes, the birthplace of Kool-aid,

a dinsour museum, fantastic caves, and ... I'm sure there is more I just can't remember right now. There was an exit called "Archer". As well as a town named "Friend". Overall a pretty boring state, not much to see. I was a little disappointed. Oh well.

On tomorrow's agenda is;
Dog park
Bow Shop
St. Louis Arch
Anheuser-Busch Brewery
Dinner with Aunt Sandy
and plenty of sleep.

Tuesday we are planning to head through Louisville, KY. Stop and see Churchhill Downs, and maybe some other sites and head through pennsylvania towards CT. I am hoping to also stop at Hershey in PA.

So there was on skiing for Wally and I. We weren't allowed to have the dogs in the canyon so we couldn't leave them in the truck while we skied. Therefore we didn't not risk coming back to an empty truck, which apparently has happened. We have driven through most of wyoming at this time and we are still on the road. It is very windy making it extremely could when walking the pups. So wyoming claims to have the largest has station in america. We didn't stop. Just drove by. But it did look fairly big. At our last fuel stop there was a jelly belly truck! More updates soon.

so we are in idaho. Making our way back to the east coast. We drove a little bit last night and we are hoping to make it to salt lake city today. This is a picture of us eating had cream we still had in the freezer with our sporks. I'll keep updating as we make our way across the country.

Alone for a few days....

So today Wally left for Harrisburg, PA for some helicopter conference. He is gone until Wednesday and the movers come on Thursday. That leave me to finish the rest of the packing. We were up early so I could drive him to the airport, so my breakfast consisted of coffee and an oatmeal scotchie cookie. After a little more packing I made a breakfast sandwich with 2 eyes, wheat bread, a little mayo, Monterrey jack cheese, and a little Franks Hot sauce.

After a good breakfast, I was off to more packing. I started working on my clothes; packing for the honeymoon, the trip across the country, ski trip, and everything else.

Now, I have some time and I have been looking for some lingerie for the honeymoon. The one that I really wanted is on backorder until 3/1/11. Thats too late. But I may order it anyway just for fun. Off to look for more...

Packing update

So... three times in one day. We have had a successful day of packing. We took a trip to the pet store, the puppies got a new bed. Got some boxes. Wally changed the binding on his skis for my boots so we can ski in Utah on our trip back. And make oatmeal scotchies...

So, I love oatmeal scotchies. and Wally and I are trying to use up the food we have left. I had just enough oatmeal left for these. I didn't do anything special. Just the recipe on the Tollhouse bag for butterscotch chips.

Packing Day cont.

I started stacking boxes in the bathroom to get them out of the way. It has definitely helped.

So packing is going fairly well. I have now started packing for the honeymoon. I figured I needed to get the summer stuff I needed out before it all got put away. In the process I also found more winter clothes!! Very excited because the drive across the country is going to be a cold one. So far the plan is to stop in Utah to go skiing, St. Louis to see the Arch and Aunt Sandy, and a bow shop. Also in the packing process I found a book called "The New Roadside America". So I am sure that I will be looking for more fun places to go visit.

Packing Day

So, I haven't been very good at blogging lately. I have been a little busy. In addition to wedding planning (getting married in 3 weeks), Wally and I are also moving across the country in less than a week and moving to NH. We also have 2 dogs that are very active and keep us busy. The puppy has had an upset stomach and had diarrhea for the last couple of days and finally starting to feel better. In the mean time I have been working on getting my NH PT license, a job in NH, getting the final RSVP's for the wedding, and just started working on the seating chart.

As for my running, I have been slacking. For christmas I got Vibram Five Finger running shoes. I have run in them twice and they cause major calf soreness. I ran earlier this week, run 1/4 mile, walk 3 minutes for 30 minutes to ease into it.

That is it for now.I will post more later.

Getting back on the horse

Hey there... So today was my first weekday run in a LONG time. I took both the dogs and only ran a few miles. Man am I out of shape. Who would have thought that a month and a half ago I ran 26.2 miles in one day. Well, that was the kick in the butt I think I needed.

Other news, I officially gave my 2 weeks notice and Wally and I are moving back to the East Coast.

As for dinner, since Wally is still in Tahoe I haven't been cooking much. Dinner was a large salad with cukes, tomatoes, avacado, yellow peppers, and a boca buger cut up wiht Balsamic Vingarette. YUM...

New Year Update!!

So it has been quite a while since I have posted. A lot of things have changed in the mean time. I have gotten a standard schaunzer puppy. He is now 8 months old. So that makes 2 dogs for this household. As for my running, I did complete the Seattle Marathon in November 2010. I finished in 5:01. This is a long time but it is also 30 minutes off of the first one I ran, so I was happy.

Wally and I have also run the First Run Portland, OR, Jan. 1st at Midnight. This was a great run. We finished in 30:01. Again this is slow for most people but at a 9:40 pace I was happy with this. I was also happy considering on Christmas Day Wally got me Vibram 5 figer shoes to try barefoot running. We ran just about 2 miles in them and my calves were sore... well.. until New Years Day. I thought that I wouldn't make it through the run.

So this year the plan is to run another Marathon, my hope is Chicago with a few friends, my mom (maybe), and possibly my sister (if i can convince her to do it).

As for the rest of my life; Wally and I are getting married in 30 days, moving to NH just before that, and starting a new job after the honeymoon. Good thing I strive on stress?!?!
