Long day...

So today started early... Calvin was up at 6:30 needing to go out to the bathroom. I decided that we were having waffles for breakfast. Another one of our wedding gifts was this fun waffle maker that flips!!

I cheated and used Bisquick. It is so easy.

We added sliced bananas on top of our waffles, such a great idea!!

Next on th agenda was making shortcake for our strawberry shortcake tonight!!

All done and beautiful!!

I also made homemade whipped cream. Once you do this you will never go back to store bought and it is so easy to make.

So other than some great food we also went snowmobiling. The plan was to go out for a short ride... we ended up out for almost 8 hours. At least it was a little bit of a workout. Having to stand up and hover over some of the bumps.

There is still unpacking to be done and thank yous to be written...

Cheese Fondue!!

So tonight's dinner was one of my favorites. It has been a long time since I've had cheese fondue and it was just as delicious as I remember it being.
Wally was not to sure about a dinner that didn't include meat. In the end he liked it. One of our wedding gifts was a beautiful All Clad Fondue set and a book of fondue recipes. I ended up making just a basic cheese fondue that I practically know from heart because I grew up making it.

Cheese Fondue -
1/2 c. milk

1/4 c. white wine
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 1/2 c. cheddar cheese, grated
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
Dash pepper
1 c. mayonnaise

Dipper -
French Bread
Broccoli
Cauliflower
Aspargus
Mushrooms

We were going to use peppers but they were bad :( and we are saving the other ones for stuffed peppers later this week.

We were also going to have strawberry shortcake... but maybe tomorrow. The strawberries are done... just need to make the shortcake! Yum!

Calvin

So here is my puppy. I can't believe that he has gotten so big. Calvin just loves the snow!

Wally and I have been married for 3 weeks today!

So it has been a while since posting last. Wally and I have been getting things settled in our new home. He has been really good about helping out since he has not started work yet. . . last night for dinner was BBQ Chicken pizza. it was delicious. I sauted half of a purple onion in a little oil. put BBQ sauce on the pizza. leftover chicken, the onion, and some cheese. baked it for 10 minutes and dinner was done! I was not ambitious enough to make salad. I am sad to say i haven't been running much at all. I just started reading a book called chi running by danny dreyer. So far it is pretty interesting and can't wait to learn how to make my running more efficient. I will do my best to keep you updated on what I learn and hopefully how my running improves. My goal tonight is to find a st. pattys day run to get me jump started. This winter has been hard to stay motivated.

Post Wedding Craziness!!

So for those of you that don't know, Wally and I were married on Feb. 5,2011. We left for Costa Rica on Feb 7th and came back 10 days later. It was absolutely wonderful. I will post pictures later. I left Wally and the 2 dogs in CT because Wally was headed to a car show/auction in Atlantic City. I came home to find no heat, frozen toilets, and frozen faucets. I was also expecting the phone and internet guy to come and the propane people to fill the tank. I was so not a happy camper. Luckily for me it was warm out that day and left the doors open. Once the tank was filled and the heat was back on the propane people told me that it might take a few hours for the toilets to thaw out. I waited and waited and no toilet. Thank god for Mom's because she used points to get me a room.

I also had a visit from my little sister this weekend. She stayed with me in the hotel room and helped me set up the kitchen and some stuff in the new house. Things aren't nearly done but it is getting closer. Wally came home tonight and suprisingly said "it's starting to look like a home and not a bunch of boxes all over the place.

My new slippers. Got them from ll bean. A treat to myself because the new house doesn't have carpet in the living room and is a little cold all through the house. There babies keep my feet nice and toasty. Today was an errands day and we meet with Lindsey and ryan for lunch. We had some delicious pumpkin apple bisque. The soup was so filling i only ate half of my sandwich and wrapped up the other half and salad. When we ran into the post office the 2 dogs got into the food and ate the other half :( We are hoping the moving truck will be here tomorrow but probably not until thursday due to the massive amounts of snow we are supposed to get tomorrow. 4 more days until the wedding and most everything is done.
